Samoolam started in July 2009 in Gaya district of Bihar, India inspired from the collective power at roots. ‘Samoolam’ which means ‘collective roots’ or ‘as a whole’. We are working together to contribute our diverse expertise to bring positive development for the community and place. Samoolam is working for socio-economic development of the weaker sections of the society women in specific. Training them with handicraft and life skills to experience their creative soul, strengthen craft tradition and create livelihood opportunities in this region. Currently more than fifty women members are working with the organization engaged in Handcrochet accessories and Bodhi leaf bookmark projects.
